Transform.Ed Briefing #57
Inside the Briefing: A move towards digital and smart learning environments
The COVID-19-induced lockdowns left 87.4% of the schools’ enrolled students without access to traditional, face-to-face education. A cause of concern in the words of Friesen was, “Why, in an era of digital media—to say nothing of radio, telephone, and telegraph—was the school apparently so little changed?”
A combination of innovative solutions, including remote and hybrid learning, was opted for to ensure continuity in learning. With the pandemic providing the required nudge, the education sector is now open to experimentation to enhance the overall learner experience.
Last week, we asked our readers what, according to them, was the most essential component of hybrid learning for improved student outcomes. Surprisingly, we received a unanimous response indicating the learner agency as the most significant. Other than students taking responsibility for designing their learning journey, what, in your opinion, can contribute to creating an impactful learning experience?
