Transform.Ed Briefing #50
Inside the Briefing: Stressing the need to de-stress and recuperate while rethinking and reimagining teacher well-being
Educators hold a pivotal role in shaping our collective futures. However, the profession is laden with excessive stress and demands, underscoring the importance of teacher well-being. As Thich Nhat Nanh says (quoted in ‘Teaching To Transgress’), ‘The practice of a healer, therapist, teacher or any helping professional should be directed toward his or herself first, because if the helper is unhappy, he or she cannot help many people’
In line with this philosophy, our poll last week, explored effective approaches for teachers to enhance their personal growth and well-being. Surprisingly, 100% of our survey participants chose to prioritize the establishment of a robust support network. What other practices and approaches do you employ to support your well-being as an educator?
