Policy Brief » Strengthening Peer Learning in the African Peer Review Mechanism: The Case for Best Practices
By SAIIA
Best practices are central to the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), which aims to promote good governance, development, and economic student growth. Although underdeveloped, these practices can strengthen APRM objectives and increase stakeholder engagement. This policy briefing highlights that best practices are underutilized but could be valuable for peer learning across countries. It recommends developing a clear framework, integrating best practices into self-assessments, and improving communication. Academics and researchers are urged to engage in discussions to better define and use best practices to enhance governance in countries.
