Transform.Ed Briefing #32
Inside the briefing: From deciphering teaching as an art and transitioning towards flexible learning pathways to breaking educational boundaries - an evolution in the making!
“Teaching is an instinctual art, mindful of potential, craving of realization, a pausing, seamless process.”
- A. Bartlett Giamatti
Behind this seemingly instinctual art, there is a dedicated investment of time, effort, and a modest share of experimentation, hope, and ingenuity.
To understand the most impactful avenues that enable educators to enhance their pedagogy and practice, last week, we asked our readers what is most helpful in enhancing their teaching practice. 50% of participants believed that Professional Development workshops have been their go-to strategy, while 25% emphasized the significance of Community of Practice in improving their skills. The rest of them voted for the adoption of new tools and technologies and the ability to reflect on individual lessons and experiences.
Professional Development opportunities, if designed and delivered well, can have a tremendous impact not just on one’s pedagogy and practice but also on learner experience and development. Given this, the question is, what makes for great Continuous Professional Development experiences? What do you think makes them effective? How can these opportunities be more practical on the ground?
