Anti-bullying interventions that are not grounded in the acts of recognizing and managing emotions are ineffective. Therefore Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in education can play a vital role in addressing bullying in schools and beyond. The 10th edition of the Transforming Education Newsletter commemorates the upcoming ‘International Day against Violence and Bullying at School including Cyberbullying’ — with an article authored by Dr. Nandini Chatterjee Singh, Dr. Neelima Chopra, and Renuka Rautela from UNESCO MGIEP in the .ed Magazine — a quarterly curated issue-based digital magazine for educators. SEL includes a range of skills recognizing and managing emotions, empathy, compassion, mindfulness, and critical inquiry.
