AI education is essential for preparing students as responsible users and co-creators of AI. UNESCO’s AI competency framework outlines twelve key competencies across four dimensions.
Human-centred mindset,
Ethics of AI,
AI techniques and applications, and
AI system design,
organized into three levels: Understand, Apply, and Create. The framework promotes critical AI engagement, ethical awareness, and inclusive design, yet by 2022, only 15 countries had integrated AI learning into their curricula.
