Policy Pulse 🏛
Policy Brief » Bullying Prevention in Public Schools
By the National Education Association (NEA)
The rise in bullying-related tragedies among school-age children worldwide has led to stronger efforts to address the problem. Governments and education authorities have taken steps to outline schools' responsibilities. Many countries have introduced or strengthened anti-bullying laws, though there is a lack of consistency across regions. Definitions of bullying vary, with some not addressing cyberbullying, and there is often an emphasis on reporting incidents over focusing on training and prevention. This lack of uniformity makes it challenging to implement effective, comprehensive approaches to combat bullying.
