Policy Brief » Post-Secondary Education in Canada: A Response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada

The policy brief reveals the initiatives Canadian universities can undertake to improve post-secondary access and success for Aboriginal students. To ensure the success of Aboriginal students, few initiatives were suggested, such as establishing meaningful partnership with Aboriginal peoples and incorporating into curriculum with indigenous knowledge. Based on this policy brief, universities in Canada carry a leading role in closing the gap in Aboriginal education outcomes with various initiatives. These initiatives can serve as an example for other regions which reinforce the importance of collaborative efforts for Indigenous rights worldwide regardless of geographic boundaries.
